Tuxtla Gutierrez, is the capital and the largest city of the mexican southeast state of Chiapas. It is the only city and the most developed, populated and therefore the state´s most important municipality. In 2011, the city was the first in Mexico to be certified as a “safe city” by the federal goverment  and the Karolinska Insitute in Stockolm due to its very low crime rate, crime prevention programs and other factors.


 

Day 1

Cañon del Sumidero National Park: Sumidero canyon is a narrow and deep canyon surrounded by a national park located just North east of Tuxtla Gutierrez. . The canyon has vertical walls which reach as high as 1000 mts. The interior of the canyon has thirty rapids, five waterfalls, three beaches and a cofferdam three meters wide. The canyon contains endangered and threatened species such as the central american river turtle and the american crocodile, which can be seen on the riverbanks. Don´t miss the boat tour.

Agua Azul Waterfalls: Palenque is surrounded by beautiful natural areas, including the Agua Azul Waterfalls and their turquoise waters. Agua Azul is perfect for observing the exotic local species, if you can take your eyes off the crystalline pools that form below the waterfalls.

Lunch: For lunch, what if you try the traditionals meals of  Chiapas. If you are already in Chiapa de corzo, why no try a “cochito” typical dish made of pork, or a “pepita con tasajo”, meat well cooked bathed in a sauce made of a tradicional seed of Chiapas. For drink, take a big glass of “Pozol”, is a drink made  of fermented corn dough, water, cocoa and sugar, very refreshing.

Parque Jardin De La Marimba (Marimba Garden Park):Parque Jardin de La Marimba is located  at 2.5 km to east from the hotel on central poniente and 8a poniente norte and named after the most characteristic music instrument of the state. The park was established to be a meeting place for families. With numerous trees, colonial style benches, lighting at night and a central kiosk the marimba bands play, which often attracts  couples who come to dance .

Dinner at Las Pichanchas Restaurant: as Pichanchas is quite a culinary and cultural experience, your first impression will  be  the beat of a marimba, sometimes romantic and other downright snappy.By then you will have checked the famous pichanchas menu. A pozol a chilled Pumpo ® (traditional drink of the home setting) or tascalate regional milk beverage are required, as well as a regional snack platter to whet your appetite. and then chipilin soup, beef jerky with chirmol a Simojovel pork (locally called Cochito al Simojovel ) with hot chilies, or the delicious tamales Chanfaina chipilin. Day 2

Zoologico Miguel Alvarez del Toro Zoo: The zoo covers 100 hectares and was founded in  1942. ZooMAT is considered to be one of the best zoo of its kind in Latin America. It exhibits, studies and preserves the native species of Chiapas such a deer, iguanas, small reptiles and birds; which they come very close to the areas where the visitants walk by.

 Regional Museum of Anthropology And History: Located 20 minutes away from the hotel is the museum, which is one of the most important of its kind in Mexico. Its permanent collection covers the history of the state and is divided into two halls: one for archeology and the other for history starting from the Spanish Conquest.

Lunch: For lunch you can stay in our hotel to take a freshly prepared lunch  in El Jardin, features international and regional cuisine, with a wide variety of choices that goes from fast food to haute cuisine. Also you can also relax the rest of the daylight in our pool who is exclusive for our guests and has some beverages, cocktails and snacks from our exclusive pool bar.
