The town is a 4-hour drive from San Jose, and serves as a starting point to visit the area’s natural attractions such as beaches, volcanoes and eco-tourism activities that appeal to locals and international visitors alike. The Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport, located on the east side of the city was inaugurated in 1995, opening its doors to airlines and destinations all over the continent and Europe. Day 1

This is a visit nature lovers cannot miss!
Take a 90-minute boat ride on the tranquil Tempisque River, the biggest in Guanacaste, which supplies water for irrigating multiple agricultural crops. Keep your eyes and ears open for the magnificent wildlife you’ll be able to appreciate, including 280 species of migratory and resident birds like macaws and great curassows. You’ll also have the opportunity to observe deer and pumas, different types of snakes and amphibians. Your tour guide will point out these and other specimens along the river ride.
At the end of the tour, you’ll visit an ancient house built 100 years ago where you can enjoy a fresh fruit snack.

Day 2

The river water is rich in minerals, and its geothermally heated waters flow from underneath massive boulders. Explore the river canyon and take a hiking experience. For the adventure lovers, there’s also a world-class zip-lining and rappelling tour. You can cross a 200 ft hanging bridge to get to the restaurant with an amazing view of the canyon and enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch.
Once you’re back at our hotel, relax by the pool or enjoy a delicious dinner in our restaurant’s outdoor terrace. Your room awaits for a great night’s sleep after a long journey of exploring Costa Rican nature.
